We have had a couple questions asked about our mission and I thought I would answer them first. Elder Davis and I serve in a joint office one of 4 rooms in the Mission office located in a large church building known as the Stake Center. The office Elders, Mission President and Elder and Sister Nelson who are over housing and finance occupy the other 3 offices. The Mission President and his wife are in the Mission office 1 to 2 days a week, the rest of the time they are driving around our Mission interviewing and overseeing mission needs. Our mission is quite large taking about 5 to 6 hrs to span so sometimes they spend the night at a hotel when they go up north.
Our Preparation Day is Saturdays. That is a day where we do not need to be in the office but can shop, get hair cuts or whatever else is needed. Elder Davis and I haven’t really taken regular P-days since we have been here as there has been so much to learn and do and honestly we enjoy serving.

We did go to the Indianapolis Temple 2 weeks ago which is about a 20 minute drive. Wonderful to spend a few hours where peace and joy fill our hearts.

I did take a Saturday off to catch up on housework and enjoyed some baking. Elder Davis was at the office working on oil change reports and continuing to automate report procedures. We are in the office on the average 60 hours a week.

Incase you think we work too much we did take time to support our local team by gathering at our apartment and having an Indiana Hoosier watching party cheering on our team to the National champions! Elder Nash, Elder Adams and Elder Subardjo came in style❣️

It was an exciting game including this amazing touch down by the quarterback!
The Indiana Hoosiers first-ever national championship defeating Miami 27-21 in the College Football Playoff they finished with a perfect 16-0 record. This was the only game we watched but felt we should understand the Hoosier fans excitement here😉it was fun:)
Elder Davis mentioned in the last post we were in the middle of a snow storm. The Snow is done we got about 10-12”. Freezing temperatures are now upon us for the next week or so and there are mountains of snow to move!

Whether that is digging out a mission car…

Clearing the mission office sidewalks! Thanks Elder Abernathy!

Or bringing out the Big Guns to get the job done! Our Office Elders, Elder Lopez, Elder Abernathy, Elder Hurd and Elder Adams brought the snow blower out of hibernation to clear the parking area! We LOVE these GREAT Missionaries♥️
Determined but with no success no matter what they and Elder Davis tried it would not start and no starter fluid to be found at the local auto shops. All Sold out!

So back to the good old shovel… Elder Nelson and Elder Davis helped dig out the mail delivery person who got stuck in the church parking lot.

So as we deal with Mountains of snow we are reminded of a message our Mission President shared this week…
“President Nelson taught, “The Lord does not require perfect faith for us to have access to His perfect power. But He does ask us to believe… start today to increase your faith. Through your faith, Jesus Christ will increase your ability to move the mountains in your life, even though your personal challenges may loom as large as Mount Everest.
…Your mountains may be loneliness, doubt, illness, or other personal problems. Your mountains will vary, and yet the answer to each of your challenges is to increase your faith. That takes work. Lazy learners and lax disciples will always struggle to muster even a particle of faith.”

Today, your faith may well be needed to move a mountain of snow, a weary companion, a struggling friend or a loved one facing challenges at home. Your mountain might also include forgiving someone, letting go of a grudge, finding joy, resolving conflict or deepening your desire to live as a disciple of Jesus Christ – because you love Him.
In his timeless pattern, President Nelson concluded with the ultimate “Therefore What?” question, “What would you do if you had more faith? Think about it. Write about it. Then receive more faith by doing something that requires more faith.”
Arm-in-arm and shoulder-to-shoulder let us go forward, God-ward and Christ-ward – in faith. Mountains will move! And when the mountain does not move, the Lord will provide a path around, over or through it as we choose to have faith in Him and demonstrate that we are determined to walk with Him – today, tomorrow and forever.”

Forward with Faith we go grateful to serve grateful for each of you in our lives!
