It is car inspection time again! Every 6 weeks at zone conference. Elder Davis has come up with a better plan than the paper envelopes for important papers in cars. We discovered the clear envelope idea in one of the cars delivered.

More cars from Ohio.

What to feed our ever growing missionary group is always a challenge. I come up with a couple ideas then do research.

Burrito bowls was decided this conference. Our wonderful helping hands♥️

The mission President has told me I can have food catered but I am cautious with the Lords money and after checking into it even with the discount it was way over what I felt comfortable. I want to wait and save those possibilities for maybe hot days ahead when cooking is not fun😉. For now we ordered the pico and did everything else. The total cost including all table and paper products was $5.35 per person.

I am learning a lot. Did you know you could bake rice? Yes that is what restaurants do when they need lots of rice and it works!

We cooked 74lbs of shredded pork, 45lbs of rice, 11 gallons of black beans, served 18lbs of shredded cheese, 12lbs of shredded lettuce, pico and 4 different sauces:).

Poke cakes made by our Fishers 2nd Ward Sisters brought smiles as President said to go BIG when I was deciding on piece sizes and we did!

For those who don’t know what poke cakes are you make a white cake as directed let cool 15 minutes. Poke holes in it every inch with the back of a wooden spoon then pour 3oz box of jello made as directed over cake slowly. Refrigerate 4 hrs till set then frost with whip cream. We used lime, orange and lemon in the cakes you can use whatever flavors you want could even use pudding. It is a light refreshing dessert and a big hit with the missionaries!

It is a JOY to feed the missionaries they are so appreciative🥰

We are blessed to be able to serve with them here in the Indiana Indianapolis Mission.

Speaking about feasts. Many of our past blog post quotes come from general conference. You might ask what is General Conference? It is a feast for the soul.

“General conference is the worldwide gathering of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Twice a year, during the first weekend of April and the first weekend of October, Church leaders from around the world share messages, or sermons, focused on Jesus Christ and His gospel.

All Are Welcome: We invite everyone of all faiths, beliefs, and backgrounds and from everywhere in the world to watch, listen, and participate.

An Opportunity to Build Faith in the Living Christ: Participating in (watching) general conference helps us learn how we can find peace, hope, and joy through Jesus Christ. We learn how to strengthen our families as we follow Jesus Christ’s teachings and how to receive personal guidance and inspiration from God.

A Global Broadcast: General conference is streamed and broadcast live in about 70 languages and is later translated into more than 100 languages. It consists of four two-hour sessions that you can watch live or on your own schedule.

We have so much to be thankful for. The greatest gift ever given was the atonement. Our Savior paid the ultimate price that we through Him can repent of our sins daily and be forgiven.

He broke the bonds of death and we too will rise again to see loved ones who have passed. What JOY what Peace! This life is NOT the end because of Jesus Christ. He is the GOOD NEWS♥️ FEAST upon His words.

We LOVE YOU. He LOVES YOU!

HAPPY EASTER!

❣️Skittles Elder Scott & Sister Kristy Davis❣️

Because of Jesus Christ even on our darkest days if we will lock arms with Him the sun will rise again we bear testimony of that truth. He is the Way to find peace, light and lasting JOY!
