Our Mission President has said it’s going to get “Messy” the closer we get to our mission multiplication and it is!

We are constantly being reminded of the scripture in Nephi 17:3

“And thus we see that the commandments of God must be fulfilled. And if it so be that the children of men keep the commandments of God he doth nourish them, and strengthen them, and provide means whereby they can accomplish the thing which he has commanded them”

Some examples…

I came back from feeding the Mission leadership to see boxes had arrived of missionary supplies we had ordered😜. Being too tired to address it then I decided a good nights rest and another day would be best and it was!

For the last 2 months there have been many helping hands sorting, organizing and inventorying our missionary supplies so that I can keep things stocked. I am SO GRATEFUL ❣️

I was able to get all 44 boxes put away just in time for these sweet Sisters to come. They are teaching a friend who is blind. In our organizing we discovered 2 braille copies of the Book of Mormon another Testament of Jesus Christ. They were thrilled to take one to him!

Elder Nelson our Mission Housing coordinator and I have a running joke of who has more packages come to the office. I think he is winning😉. Some of the supplies for the new apartments he needs to secure as we grow!

Our AMAZING office elders do all the moving of supplies and furniture into the apartments. They are always grateful when it is a first floor apartment😊!

Elder Davis has felt a bit overwhelmed keeping up with the bikes and bike racks. So many repairs needed. The Turners who serve up north in the Family Search library had a week where it was closed. Elder Turner knows bikes! While Sister Turner helped inventory the supply closet he worked on bikes and bike racks an answer to prayer❣️

Then a call no one wants to get! “Elder Davis this is the Sisters we have been in an accident” “Are you OK?” “Yes but the car isn’t.” Not their fault…Day 10 of no accidents back to 1. Grateful all involved were ok!

Elder Davis and Elder Okelberry had spent the last 2 days organizing which cars would be in which mission. A perfect training opportunity for him to fill out an accident report.

Finally while on a zoom call yesterday afternoon with the Facility Manager coordinator in Salt Lake we learned that the mission offices for the new Fort Wayne mission will not be done by July 1st.

The plan is to set up a “temporary” office for 3 to 6 months in another church building 20 minutes away from the future one. They were asked if folding tables and file cabinets would be sufficient. A million questions going through all our heads as we thought about a temporary office that will have so many moving parts starting on day one!! Questions like, are office supplies, missionary supplies provided or we need to order and will there be storage for those supplies as well as bedding bags, bikes, etc. Our 6 weeks of training together all of a sudden seems super short!

Now we understand why they were sent here so early usually you only have a week or 2 to train.

Elder Davis was asked if he could set computers up and get that part ready. Of course he said yes.

Mission life can be filled with the unexpected too. It can be overwhelming at times.

I am trying to not worry about those things which we cannot change. If something can be done, do it. If nothing can be done, rest the burden in the Lord’s hand.

A dear family member shared this quote.

Worrying doesn’t take away tomorrow’s troubles, it only takes away today’s peace. ❤️

May we choose to trust in God and His plan especially when life is MESSY! We testify when we face life’s challenges with faith locking arms with Him nothing is impossible.

We can have peace today no matter what tomorrow brings!

We LOVE YOU!!

  1. Most of us don’t have a grasp of all the odds and ends you need to take care of. And the expense the church expends for cars, setting up apartments, materials of all kinds-truly bewildering!
