It brings such SUNSHINE to our day🥰each time missionaries stop by the Mission office for supplies or to just say hi after they attend the temple. We have had notes left on our desks that thank us for what we are doing. On Monday an Elder made homemade warm banana bread and brought us a slice. YUM it was delicious!

We don’t NEED those notes, hugs, banana bread to carry on as we love serving here in the Indiana Indianapolis Mission but it does make us feel noticed, loved, important and needed. Everyone needs that❣️

President Matheson said in a recent Devotional “Enjoying the sunlight and seeing the best in those around us is a matter of attention as well as attitude. (This is not to say that we don’t deal with issues or have crucial conversations. We need those!) What I am suggesting is that you should water what you want to grow in your garden.”

I had an experience this week although small still has me smiling 😉. Monday I was informed that my Travel agent from Salt Lake assigned to our mission was leaving to serve another mission in Texas so I was assigned Sister Marble. Travel is a big part of my calling to make sure missionaries coming in and going home are where they need to be and the goal is grouped together so that it is one trip to the airport which is about 45 minutes away.

Sister Marble’s first communication to me was…

Sis Davis!

I promise to give you my very best and I look forward to working with you! We appreciate all you do as well!

Love, Sis Marble 😊

Her positive introduction gave me confidence we could be a good team. I felt prompted to write her an e-mail and explain why we ask for flight before 5 for incoming missionaries as this has been one of the most challenging things I deal with concerning flights.

As I have mentioned before when missionaries come in we feed them then have an orientation meeting explaining important numbers, housing, vehicles. They get their phones set up with mission numbers and receive their Missionary fund card as well as have an interview with the mission president to confirm the trainer/companion he has prayed about for the missionary is the right fit. They also meet with the mission nurse. This process can take up to 2 hrs depending on how big the group is.

As you can imagine the new missionaries are already fatigued from getting up at 3:30-4:00am mountain standard time to pack and catch their flights out of Salt lake. The goal is to get the meeting done then get them to the hotel for a good night rest.

When we have flights come in at 6:40pm and we can’t start the orientation till 8:30 it can be hard on everyone. This orientation is critical because in the morning missionaries throughout the mission come for transfer day some traveling as far as 2 hrs away. They will meet their companions get some more instructions, gather bikes, bedding and luggage and head out to their new areas all before noon.

Now back to the conversation. After explaining the Whys of various situations Sister Marble wrote…

Sis Davis,

I appreciate understanding how things work on your end as well! I will do my very best to keep the missionaries together and in before 5pm. That will always be my goal. I appreciate knowing specific times so I can do my very best!

Sister Marble I have a question for you. June 10th we have 23 missionaries coming it is a BIG group. All are coming at 3:33pm but 1 was booked for 6:28 because the plane was full. Do airlines ever add flights and if so could those who are arriving late be re-booked closer to the other flights or because it has been past 24hrs that is not possible?. Also for that same date I am still waiting for a flight for Elder Bunker. Thanks so much😊

Well Merry Christmas! Our sweet Heavenly Father opened up some seats on that “full” plane. We got BOTH Elder White and Elder Bunker coming in on that same flight with the other Missionaries. Itineraries incoming. YAY!

I was THRILLED!

Sister Marbel can you look at one more thing for June 10th. We have an Elder who was coming April 29th but i just received notice he has been changed to June 10th. Praying there is one more open seat on that “full” plane!🙏Thank you.

And Happy Easter! HAHA

GOD IS GOOD

Hope you got that last itinerary for your Elder❣️

YEAH! YES Merry Christmas, Happy New year and BLESSED Easter!👏🏻. GOD IS GOOD and so are you! You are an angel Sister Marble Thank you and have a GREAT DAY 💖

I finished my conversation knowing I had witnessed another miracle. To have ALL 23 missionaries coming in on the same flight and at 3:33❣️Simply Amazing ❣️Grateful for Sister Marble who’s positive attitude brought JOY even through an email and has brightened my week as I reflect on this miracle I witnessed that answered my prayers!

GOD IS GOOD all the time and ALL the time GOD IS GOOD❣️

We LOVE YOU💗Make it a GREAT Day by brightening someone else’s day!

  1. With that many missionares arriving at one time that must get pretty hectic and exciting at the same time-maybe like herding cats! But I’m sure you two handle it well.

  2. I was looking forward to your thoughts on the Marysville washington temple announcement. Such wonderful news ❤️
