A reimbursement check came to the office for a former missionary. One of my jobs is to try to track down and forward mail that comes after a missionary leaves.

I looked up a past record, found a phone # and called it. No one answered, but there was a message machine. The voice was an older woman’s so I did not leave a message as I thought surely this is not a right number. About 1/2hr later my phone rang. I answered “Hello this is Sister Davis from the Indiana Indianapolis Mission how can I help you”

A sweet older woman’s voice with a southern accent said “Hello I am returning a recent call.” I recognized the voice from the message machine. I asked her if she knew the Elder I was looking for she said “No”. I thanked her for calling back. She then said something that surprised me. She said “I saw this number and I saw the name Jesus and I didn’t want to miss a call from Jesus!”

I suddenly felt an instant connection to her. We had a sweet exchange confirming neither one of us wanted to ever miss a call from Jesus💝 Then we said goodbye.

Since that phone call 2 weeks ago I have thought much about her statement “I saw this # and Jesus and I didn’t want to miss his call.” It has caused me to reflect on if I am as fast to return His calls as she was. It’s easy to return a call if you have developed a deep friendship with someone, if you know what it is about or it’s something you are excited for. It’s another story if it is the unknown, a challenging opportunity or the undesired “can you?”

We each have a work to do here on earth. What that is for you is between you and the Lord. Seek Him, ask Him and then listen with all your Heart. When that answer comes trust Him and go forward and do!

As we approach this sacred and holy week of Easter Elder Davis and I are forever grateful for the words “He is not here, but is risen” (Luke 24:5–6).

Those words give us hope that we will see our son Nate and other loved ones again. Those words testify that Jesus Christ was not just a good man, a great leader but He is our Redeemer. Our advocate to the Father. Our exemplar of how to live, love and serve our fellow man. He is the answer to the simplest questions or the most challenging problems we may have. He can bring us peace in unsettled times and lasting joy in the eternities. He is always the answer.

May we remember our Savior and what He did for each one of us out of pure love. Then may we answer when He calls because we love Him💗

We invite you to take time and watch this beautiful Easter Message.
