Another full week! I feel I say that every weekšŸ˜‚ but it’s true a full-time mission is FULLā£ļø

First off we laughed the other day shocked when stepping out of the car at the mission office both of our glasses fogged up at the same time! It reminded me of when you open the dishwasher after it has run!

The Humidity and heat have spurred some powerful wind, thunder and lightning storms which are amazing to watch! All our missionaries are safe and sound. The tornadoes were just outside our mission, prayers for those affected. President and Sister Matheson have a system that notifies them if they need to reach out to missionaries in a certain area and tell them to take cover. We just carry on and once in a while look out the door or window and watch a storm roll by.

Knowing in a short time it will be gone.

The same happens in our lives. One moment things may be good next moment….

Monday morning I got a message from Sister Hieftje (you pronounce it He-fee-ya) she and her husband will be in the Fort Wayne Mission. She will be over housing and he finance. They were supposed to arrive Monday for training. Traveling from Texas she wrote…

ā€œJust wanted to let you know that the adversary is alive and well. In the middle of a thunderstorm while cruising down the highway yesterday, our car quit running. We got the car towed to a garage last night and are currently sitting in a hotel in Marion Arkansas while we sort out the problem and get it fixed. We don’t know how long this will take, especially if they have to order parts. We were really looking forward to getting to Indiana today, but it doesn’t look like that is going to happen. We will keep you updated on our situation..ā€

With only a short week and a half for training, this was devastating for both them and their counterparts the Nelsons, who will be training them.

We gathered together as mission staff and had a prayer for the Hieftjes and sent back the following message..

ā€œ We are so SORRY ! We are glad you are safe. You are definitely needed here and will be doing a great work! Grateful the Lord is more powerful. Let us know if there’s anything we can do. We are joining in prayers here in the office for you for your car and all involved in the repairs. Keep us posted. Love the Mission Office.

1 Nephi 1:20

ā€œā€¦ I, Nephi, will show unto you that the tender mercies of the Lord are over all those whom he has chosen, because of their faith, to make them mighty even onto the power of deliverance.ā€

To our surprise, they walked in the next morning at the end of our weekly missionary devotional! It had been a bad fuel pump and the man who repaired it had one in stockšŸ‘šŸ»šŸ’—Another miracle.

Beautiful Noise as training begins for the Hieftjes with the Nelsons.

The office continues to buzz!!

LOTS of deliveries for BOTH missions including a new truck (Ford 250 Crew cab) and 2 new vans (Kia carnival hybrids). Bedding bags assembly, new apartment furniture and supplies delivered, food prep for arriving missionaries and mission supply room stocked and ready just to name a few of the moving pieces. When we get tired…

Elder Davis knows how to energize the officešŸ˜‚ā™„ļø

This week has also been full of tender moments as 23 missionaries arrived and 5 departed. Transfers were announced which this time involve who will be in the New Fort Wayne Mission and who will be in the Indianapolis Mission.

President started Transfer day at 6:32am with a text message then called EACH missionary personally to let them know their assignment. Here is just a small part of his message.

Kairos Moment for Wednesday: –

As I shared yesterday, I love the saying, ā€œI do not know what tomorrow holds, but I know Who holds tomorrow!ā€

Our Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ do know what tomorrow holds and have prepared and crafted blessings to meet your every need. They have given Their Angels charge to be round about you, to lift and strengthen and guide you in every way in every tomorrow and every today.

While we may prefer that the Lord just give us certainty, clarity, and a detailed roadmap showing exactly what’s ahead, our Heavenly Father is offering, and our Savior Jesus Christ is proffering, something better. I invite you to TRUST in Those who hold tomorrow. Jesus has already walked through what tomorrow holds for you. He has perfect compassion, infinite mercy, illuminating grace and eternal love for you…

Psalms 31:14-15 reads, ā€œBut I trusted in thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my God. My times are in thy hand:ā€ Truly ā€œmy timesā€ are the ultimate Kairos Moments. When ā€œmy timeā€ and ā€œThe Lord’s timeā€ become one and the same – then the Kairos Moment has come. I witness that this is one of those times. Remember my friends, that the opportunity of a lifetime can only be realized in the lifetime of the opportunity.

We have much to do and many to bless. May your hearts and minds be ready to receive and may you be determined to do what the Lord asks in your Kairos Season. We love you forever and for always!

You are part of the reason the mission will multiply, increase and become great. With the Fort Wayne and Indianapolis Missions things will truly multiply and replenish. I will talk to each of you this morning so that you will know where you are assigned to minister in the season ahead. It is important to me that you hear this news, that is from Prophets and Apostles, through me. (You will have to be a little patient this morning as there are many more of you than me šŸ˜‰ ). Talk to you soon!

After the Arriving missionaries learned who their Trainers were President Matheson dismissed them to head to the chapel. I watched as the room FILLED with chatter as they began to get to know each other. I feel so grateful to have witness such a BEAUTIFUL NOISEā£ļø.

I’ll go where You want me to go.

It may not be on the mountain’s height
Or over the stormy sea,
It may not be at the battle’s front
My Lord will have need of me;
But if by a still, small voice He calls
To paths I do not know,
I’ll answer, dear Lord, with my hand in Thine,
I’ll go where You want me to go.

I’ll go where You want me to go, dear Lord,
O’er mountain or plain or sea;
I’ll say what you want me to say, dear Lord,
I’ll be what You want me to be.ā€
