The other day I went outside for a walk and saw a lump in our big parking lot. All of a sudden it moved! I realized it was a turtle about 10” long making its way across what had to seem like a vast desert of asphalt. My first big turtle sighting! Since then I have seen 2 others.
Behind the church hidden by shrubs and trees a beautiful view opens up. That is their goal to get back to the pond they have wandered from.
Sometimes they get help but often it takes what must seem like an overwhelming trek across a huge hot parking lot! A slow and steady effort is what it takes to get home.
This week we continue training, helping, the new Fort Wayne Indiana mission office specialists the Okelberrys. Each morning as an office staff we pray for divine light to guide us and help us know what the Lord would have us do. Then we get busy doing🥰
So many pieces to learn and think about. Slow and steady is how most of us learn. ♥️ They have a desire to serve and we know from experience that the Lord qualifies who He calls.
Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf said “We cannot be content with spiritual experiences of the past. We need a steady flow.
We can’t rely on others’ testimonies forever. We must build our own.
We need an ongoing, daily infusion of heavenly light.

A small rudder can steer a large ship.
Minutes and hours well spent are the building blocks of a life well lived.

We can navigate our way through the darkness and trials of this life and find our way back to our loving Heavenly Father if we seek and accept the spiritual landmarks He has provided, embrace personal revelation, and strive for daily restoration. This is how we become true disciples of our beloved Savior, Jesus Christ.”
And we don’t have to do it alone! Seek those who build you up, who cheer you on and vise versa YOU be His light. YOU invite, encourage and lift wherever you go, wherever you serve because YOU have linked arms with the Savior and YOU are His friend.
Doctrine and Covenants 84:77
And again I say unto you, my friends, for from henceforth I shall call you friends, it is expedient that I give unto you this commandment, that ye become even as my friends in days when I was with them, traveling to preach the gospel in my power.
With steady effort we can become what the Lord knows we can be and make our way home to Him❣️
