Some days it can be easy to feel overwhelmed with what lies before us.
Zone Conference was this past week only 2 days Wednesday and Thursday due to the Mission division or like President Matheson says multiplication. It is always the most labor intensive time in our calling as so many moving pieces need to come together at once to make it successful.
Elder Davis was trying to make car cleaning kits for all the cars but was struggling finding the right containers and 60 windex and 60 armor all to put in them.
My plans were Monday after staff meeting to go purchase the food for zone conference and do prep Tuesday. I would feed 90 day 1 and 80 day 2.
Plans quickly changed when a big storm blew in during staff meeting. We could hear the thunder and see lightning and down pouring!
As storms often blow by fast here I thought it would lessen and I could go do my shopping but then the power to the building went out. It was decided to go home and I would do my shopping early the next day.
At home, our power was on and while watching the weather channel…
…learned this was a significant storm with over 1400 lightning strikes in 15 minutes and scattered power outages everywhere. Prayers for strength tomorrow to do what was needed and REST tonight was the pleas of our evening prayers together.
The next morning we were greeted by clear sunny skies, answer to our prayers. I dropped Elder Davis off at the Mission office and headed to Gordon’s a bulk food store that opens early. Got all I needed there and had a 1/2hr wait before Costco opened. Knowing Elder Davis had not found his car kit supplies, I plugged in Home Depot on my Google Maps. YES I still can’t get around without it here😜with no mountains, lots of trees and windy roads I have no sense of direction!
It’s all in a circle and when you go one direction to get somewhere, you cannot always go back the same way you came not to mention construction everywhere!
Anyway i digress 😉 To my surprise I learned I was only 4 minutes away from a Home Depot so I decided to go and see what they had. Knowing time was tight I asked for help and they pointed me to the back of the store. On my way back in a center isle there were a stack of small clear bins with locking lids on sale! I FaceTimed with Elder Davis and he said YES PERFECT!
Now did they have enough? We only needed 28 for the first day, but if I could get all 60 that was the hope. I loaded the cart and emptied the display 41 in total. I asked a worker if they had anymore and to my joy he said he thought there was some by the check stands. There was! I completed the 60 containers, mission accomplished! Next for the Windex and armor all. They did not have 60 but with the help of several employees pulling boxes off top shelves they had 28 of each and that was enough to get by for the first day. My car was packed no room for Costco shopping but with a humble heart, I drove back to the Mission Office, knowing the Lord had answered our prayers better than we could have imagined!
Now in case you are worried about me. Don’t worry the Lord sent angels my way to help♥️
After I dropped off Elder Davis‘s supplies, I headed to Costco and got the rest of the food. On the menu, this time was breakfast for lunch🥰
Over 500 pancakes, 45 dozen eggs, sautéed vegetables for eggs, 36lbs breakfast sausage.
For the “ dessert table” a yogurt/ fruit & granola bar which was a BIG HIT!
Our theme was Morning Sunshine – yellow tablecloths and “Bees”😊

Be prayerful: Talk to God often in prayer to ask for His help.
What a blessing and a joy to serve these wonderful young amazing powerful Missionaries in whatever capacity we are called to serve. 
God wants us to succeed in life. He wants us to grow, find joy, and return to live with Him one day. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, so we could be strengthened in our fears, trials and challenges
Luke 1:37
For with God nothing shall be impossible.
Sister Virginia H Pearce wrote. “Perhaps our Heavenly Father’s greatest hope is that through our fears ( and challenges) we may choose to turn to him. The uncertainties of earth life can help to remind each of us that we are dependent on him. But that reminder is not automatic. It involves our agency. We must choose to take our fears to him, choose to trust him, and choose to allow him to direct us.
As we try to live his commandments and pray to him, there are things he will direct us to do that will help calm our fears. These actions often require great courage and direction from the Holy Ghost. He will support us as we face our fears and try to do things that we have never done before.
Jesus Christ is always the answer. He is the Way and we Can Do whatever is required and find strength for TODAY and each day forward💕
May I offer two ideas that have been helpful to me when I have felt fearful?
Concentrating on pleasing Heavenly Father brings peace, a respite from fear and anxiety.
A large part of conquering daily fear is simply doing things that we don’t know how to do—yet.
As we concentrate on pleasing the Lord rather than others and continue to work hard, doing the things we don’t know how to do yet but guided by the Spirit, we will experience personal growth. We will increase our confidence in Heavenly Father and his Son, Jesus Christ. This faith assures us that in the end, we will not only survive but we will know great joy and happiness. “
