For the past 3 days we have had visiting Area 70’s and their wives in our Mission.
It has been an extraordinary opportunity for our young missionaries to be taught by two General Authority Seventy – Elder Allen D. Hainey, our Area President and Elder Ronald M. Barcellos a Counselor in the Area Presidency.
General Authority Seventies are Church leaders called by the First Presidency to be “especial witnesses” of Jesus Christ and to assist the Twelve Apostles.
During this 2 day Mission tour my responsibility was to plan and provide a special Christmas meal for the whole mission. Blessings came as I met with Sister Matheson our Mission Presidents wonderful wife and Sister Nelson in the office. We planned the meal, divided and concurred what could have been an overwhelming task for me to feed the mission in 2 days instead of 3 like with zone conferences. 120 the first day and 150 the second!

I did the shopping, and YES it is COLD! The storm held off though, blessing #1!Table set up and chairs by missionaries and ward members. Table decorations I did but the Creshe last week left decorations up for the next weeks ward parties. We have 3 congregations that meet in this building.
They asked if I could water the poinsettias and I said sure thinking it was a few in the chapel.

When I went into the gym and saw hundreds of poinsettias I laughed😂. It brought me right back to my landscape nursery days at Molbaks in Woodinville!
Blessing#2 the lights, trees and Yes the Poinsettias really added to the decorations planned!
Blessing#3 Senior missionaries help!

Our menu Ham, Green Beans, loaded mash potatoes, salad and homemade rolls made by the mission nurse Sister Smith!

Elder Davis was in charge of the punch concoction and did a GREAT job! 💖

Blessing # 5 With the flurry in the kitchen happening to get things ready we were grateful that the Lord could hold the clock back for a few extra minutes both days❣️
#6 the joy on the missionaries faces as they ate and socialized was the best!

Blessing #7 the auditable gasp when President Matheson brought out the brownie sundaes with Sister Matheson’s homemade fudge sauce and peppermint sprinkles!😊

Elder Hainey and Elder Barcellos and their amazing wives are wonderful disciples and especial witnesses of Jesus Christ to all the world but especially these last few days to the missionaries of the Indiana Indianapolis Mission. Thank you❣️
